# Wild Rift Pocket — Mage Role Guide

## Role Definition

AP-based role that pressures enemies with AoE spells and long-range burst. Typically played Mid, though CC-heavy mages also work as Support. Trades survivability for burst damage and skill uptime.

## Stat Priority

- **Ability Power** — direct damage. Aim for 100-150 by tier-3
- **Ability Haste** — mages live on ability rotation
- **Mana / Mana Regen** — early-game sustain (Tear-line starters exist)
- **Magic Penetration** — counters enemy MR itemisation

- **Burst** (mage_burst): Combo-burst mage; delete squishies in one rotation, disengage, look for the next kill. Fits Annie, Veigar, Lux, Ziggs, Syndra.
  - Core 6: `blackfire-torch, infinity-orb, rabadons-deathcap, void-staff, zhonyas-hourglass, spellslingers-shoes`
- **Control** (mage_control): Zone-control mage; chip through fights from range with sustained slows and DoT. Fits Morgana, Malzahar, Zoe, Karma — CC + damage-over-time mages.
  - Core 6: `liandrys-torment, blackfire-torch, rabadons-deathcap, void-staff, zhonyas-hourglass, crimson-lucidity`
